I have a "s...So nice to have found your blog. I have a "so called foundered horse" that I rescued, I have never dealt with cases like this. We removed his shoes and trimmed. He ended up with two abscesses on each front foot. One is draining but the other is still there. Has been there for possibly 3 weeks. I have been soaking his hooves but it won't seem to drain. Tomorrow I will try plantain/comfrey/charcoal poultice, not sure how long to keep it on for though. Maybe you could email me with your thoughts. jeanene@tremoulet.com. I live in the dominican republic so there are not experienced vets or farriers.
