Delilah's Story

This is an amazing story about a horse - Delilah - who lost her hoof and her family who is standing by her helping her through some difficult procedures.

The photos are amazing. Please take a look and help if you can.

Thanks.

They are to be commended for what they have done for Delilah. I have seen a horse get it's hock stuck in just that same place while rolling. He got out by the time we got over to him to help. Very scary.

After seeing the detached hoof (and it's shape), I hope they take the next step and go barefoot!

wow, what timing. did you read behind the bit's story this week about dangeorus round pen panels?

this horse delilah got her hoof caught between two panels?

and i've seen a horse run through ridecamp with a panel attached to his neck. and another time a morgan simply whacked his hoof on the panel hard enough that the hoof wall broke off.

i'm starting to hate these things!

if i ever get one, i'm gonna make sure the horses cannot put body parts through them. they're not a forgiving material. they break horses.

but it's amazing how horses' bodies heal.

Should have posted this when you posted about the oxine/citric acid mixture, but I didn't think about it... I've had some really good luck with the athlete's foot creme/antibiotic mixture that Pete recommends. I have a mare with a chronic thrush problem, and within a week it had cleared up just smearing that on every day. I don't know if it works as well on WLD, but it may be worth a try if you haven't already.
